- Alice Richards Botanical Trail, located in Frederica Park, is where native plant species have been re-introduced to land that was used for timber and features a gazebo, children’s area and labyrinth.

- The Health System Fitness Trail gracefully winds its way through a forest of live oaks, cedars, bamboo, and other native plants with benches strategically placed along the way. The trail is also accessible to anyone who is physically challenged, including those who must use a wheelchair or other mobility device.

St Simons Island Pet Friendly Beaches & Beach Rules
- Dogs are are allowed on any portion of the beach non-summer months.
- You can still bring your dog to the beach during the summer months* but must follow the time of day restrictions. Dogs are prohibited on the beach between the hours of 9:00 am and 6:00 pm. Morning and evening beach walks are popular with both locals and visitors! *Saturday before Memorial Day through Labor Day
- Dogs are allowed off-leash if the handler is able to control pet via voice-command.
- Owners must clean up after their pets. Waste bags are available at most beach access points, however it’s always a good idea to bring your own.
- Massengale Park Beach Entrance – dog friendly favorite with lots of parking as well as greenspace and trash cans by the beach entrance for your dog to do their business.
- Gould’s Inlet – favorite for sunrise walks! There are trash cans and a small green space by the beach entrance.
- East Beach/Coast Guard Beach Entrance – Great for social dogs! Since it’s the largest beach entrance with the most parking, the walkway on and off the beach can have more traffic.
- East Beach Neighborhood Public Beach Access Points – If you have a nervous or shy pup, there are many public beach access trails to East Beach throughout the neighborhood. These have extremely limited parking, but are just a short walk from either Gould’s Inlet of Coast Guard Beach Parking Lots.
Jekyll Island Pet Friendly Beaches & Beach Rules
- Jekyll Island allows dogs on most beaches and in parks year-round. No pets are allowed on the beach between South Dunes Picnic Area and 2,000 feet northeast of St. Andrews Picnic Area. (areas are clearly marked)
- Pets must be on a leash at all times and the maximum length for leashes is 16 feet.
- Owners must clean up after their pets. Waste bags are available at most beach access points, however it’s always a good idea to bring your own.
- Driftwood Beach – favorite for sunrise walks!
- St. Andrew’s Beach – favorite for sunset walks!
