As the hot August temps slowly begin to drop and the first cool breezes of fall start blowing in, St. Simons Island and the Golden Isles becomes a quiet haven for families and island visitors. The warms days and cooler evenings make it the perfect time to explore the Golden Isles, and take advantage of the beaches, educational programs, and delicious restaurants. And no need to worry if you didn’t get your vacation booked in time for Labor Day; the Golden Isles has plenty of events the entire month of September…and well into the rest of fall. Whether you are here to relax on the beach and take a leisurely bike ride around the island, or if you are wanting to educate your kids on the wonders of St. Simons Island, we have a little something for everyone.

Friday, September 4th 11am-pm. Local Farmers Market at Halyards Restaurant. Browse through a market of local farmers/producers.

Saturday, September 5th and 19th 9am-12pm. Science Saturdays. Driftwood Education Center. 100 Arthur J Moore Dr. $20/pp. ages 4-13. All Hands-on, experiential learning centered around various nature and science topics.

Sunday, September 6th 7pm-9pm. Little Light Music at the St. Simons Island Lighthouse. Sensational Sounds of Motown. $15/pp.

Sunday, September 6th 5pm-8:30pm. Labor Day Festival. Mary Ross Park Downtown Brunswick. Food trucks, live music, fireworks, and more.

Satudays 10:00-11:30am. Kids Pottery Class. Glynn Visual Arts 106 Island Drive.

Dates Range. Summer Gatorology on Jekyll Island. Learn about the American Alligator’s history, biology and conservation. Reservations required, dates limited.

September 26-27 10am-5pm. 50th Art Under the Oaks Festival.

Tuesdays 4:30pm-7:30pm. Wine Tasting Tuesdays. Golden Isles Olive Oil. Redfern Village.
